  • Inside each tooth is a soft tissue (the pulp) containing nerves and blood vessels. If the pulp is inflamed or infected - often from deep decay, cracks, trauma, or previous large fillings - we carefully remove it, disinfect the canals, and seal them to prevent reinfection. Most patients feel immediate relief once the source of inflammation is treated.

    1. Diagnosis & 3D imaging – Comprehensive exam with low-dose CBCT 3D scan and digital x-rays to map every canal.

    2. Comfort first – Local anaesthetic and a relaxed, boutique setting; additional anxiety-management options can be discussed.

    3. Precise treatment – Tooth isolated with a rubber dam; canals cleaned and shaped using ProTaper Next rotary instruments with guidance from a Morita Apex Locator.

    4. Deep disinfection – Ultrasonic/sonic activation (EndoActivator) helps penetrate the disinfectant throughout the canal system.

    5. Seal & protect – Canals are filled and sealed; a temporary or definitive restoration is placed depending on your case.

    How many visits? Many cases are completed in two visits; complex infections may require three visits a few weeks apart.

  • Root-canal-treated teeth are more prone to fracture. To prevent cracks and reinfection, we strongly recommend a crown after RCT—especially for molars and heavily filled teeth. We offer same-day ceramic crowns in-house (subject to suitability), so you can protect your tooth without multiple visits.

Alternatives & timing

If a tooth is too compromised, extraction with options like dental implants or bridges may be discussed. When a root canal is indicated, early treatment generally means less discomfort, simpler procedures, and better long-term success.

Aftercare

Mild tenderness for a few days is common and usually managed with over-the-counter medication. Avoid chewing hard foods on the tooth until it is definitively restored with a crown. We’ll review healing and plan your final protection promptly.
